Overview

Responsible for providing dining service to all guests in an efficient, courteous and professional manner displaying a high standard of guest services.

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

        

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prompt, efficient and courteous service of food and beverages to restaurant Guests in accordance with venue standards.
  • Performs necessary tasks to service guests, i.e. taking and filling all food and drink orders and assisting in maintaining guests dining area in a clean and neat manner.
  • Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
  • Service/prepare food & beverage orders in accordance with established service standards.
  • Responsible for receiving payment from Guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Complies with all health and safety standards/regulations as well as all applicable beverage, federal, state and local laws/ordinances.
  • Monitors guest needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfills.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and provide daily detailed communications with the Restaurant Manager, the Food Shift Supervisors, Food and Beverages Leaders and other co-workers in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation.
  • Assists other restaurant personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

Qualifications

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or older.

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required.

          TESTING:

Must be able to pass the Basic Math Test with 85%, must take the required testing identified for this position

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must be Serv-Safe certified or become certified within thirty (30) days of employment at Pearl River Resort and C.A.R.E. (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively) certified before starting to work. All candidates must successfully complete the class and obtain a test score of 84% or higher.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees and one on one.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Essential responsibilities include moderate to heavy physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds, and standing/walking 90% of the shift. Perform position responsibilities and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces. Bending, stooping and stretching of arms during assigned shift.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
