Overview

Responsible for supervising associates on assigned shift and for properly executing security duties on assigned shift, to adequately protect the life and property of customers, Associates and the Company’s entire facility.

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

        

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the supervision of associates on assigned shift to provide safety and security of guests, associates and property.
  • Assign and supervise assigned associates at various locations according to job requirements and worker’s ability, skills and experience.
  • Approve PTO requests, Call-ins, (in the absence of the shift supervisor).
  • Ability to assume command in the absence of supervisors.
  • Assist in the supervision of Security associates on assigned shift.
  • Responsible for the proper execution of assigned duties.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, and orders.
  • Provide protection for the Casino and all associates and customers of the Casino.
  • Assist in conducting investigations to obtain information and responds to emergencies and accidents.
  • Assist in preparing detailed reports concerning matters investigated.
  • Overall protection of company assets.
  • Guard all transfers of monies and chips on the casino floor as well as the physical transportation of hopper fills, chip fills, and credits.
  • Interact with customers and associates in a professional manner.
  • Interact with local law enforcement agencies as required.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Promotes a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction in the department.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:      

 

Directly supervises the daily activities of assigned Security Associates on assigned shift.

 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above.

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required, or a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in PRR Security Department. Five (5) years of experience in casino security, law enforcement, corrections, industrial or private security is required. Prior security experience in casino gaming is required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – with 2 (two) or less moving violation within a 12 month period and no DUI or suspended license within the last 3 years. Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must complete Incident Management System course within one (1) year of employment. May not be arrested or convicted of any criminal offense.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: Safely lift and/or move up to eighty (80) pounds on occasions as well stand and walk for 100% of assigned shift. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Must successfully complete PPCT (Pressure Point Control Techniques), Conflict Resolution Training, and any other training offered by the Security Department. Must be willing to be involved in volatile situations.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

 

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
