Overview

Responsible for the safe operation and transport of guest vehicles on company property, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and controls.

 

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

 

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

        

Responsibilities

  • Provides impeccable guest service to all guests.
  • Assists guests promptly and courteously in Valet check-in and checkout.
  • RUNS (never walks!) for all pick-ups from the Valet lot (weather conditions permitting), in accordance with established safety guidelines.
  • Parks vehicles in designated areas of the property, then accurately records the location of the vehicle onto a Valet receipt, which is attached to the appropriate keys and stored in the Valet office until the guest is ready to leave the property.
  • Effectively communicates with the Lead Valet Service Attendant.
  • Promptly clears valet drop-off area of cars to be parked.
  • Presents a clean, neat and well-groomed appearance, wearing only the designated Valet uniform while on the job.
  • Escort the guest and transport their luggage to and from the guest vehicle
  • Works in rotation with all assigned Valet Service Attendants at all assigned posted during shift.
  • Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
  • Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Associates of same, whenever possible.

Qualifications

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above.

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – two (2) or less moving violations within a 12 month period. Must be able to drive automatic and standard shift vehicle.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other associates of the organization.

           REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk or hear. Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: regularly required to lift, push, pull, and carry luggage and other guest items must be able to maneuver large luggage up to seventy (70) pounds as well as load and unload wheelchairs, motorized carts and other similar equipment as needed. Must be able to stand and/or walk approximately 100% of assigned shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

Must be physically fit and able to repeatedly jog to and from the Valet parking lot for duration of shift. This position is required to work in outside weather conditions and may perform responsibilities and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces as well as exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
