Overview

Responsible for properly documenting all gaming in-coming and out-going cash transactions of the Finance Department.

 

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

 

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

           

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review all aspects of the resort gaming activities for Title 31 compliance.
  • Enforce the compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) requirements and Choctaw Gaming Commission, resort minimum internal controls as it pertains to gaming operations and revenue.
  • Review any new guest accounts in Synkros and CMS at Pearl River Resort for accuracy.
  • Update any new accounts in Synkros, Newave, and CMS with correct guest information based on the ID that was scanned during the account setup.
  • Check for any duplicate guest accounts in Synkros, Newave, and CMS during review.
  • Assist the Title 31 Specialist with their responsibilities when needed.
  • Ensure that the established internal controls are being followed and are valid for the current gaming activities. Identify any weaknesses or problems to the Internal Control Supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with all Resort associates, guests, auditors and gaming related inspectors.
  • Assist in protecting and safeguarding all Resort assets.
  • Answers the phone, assists guests.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all Associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required.   Associate’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field or the completion of some post-secondary classes in the accounting field is preferred.  Two (2) years of previous experience in an accounting or finance related field is required.

TESTING:

Must be able score at least 85% on a Basic Math test, no minimum score on the 10-Key test and Excel test. Must take the required testing identified for this position.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.  Understanding and some knowledgeable in the appropriate software, to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend basic instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) pounds, and sit for extended periods in excess of 4 hours.  Must be able to walk or stand for 50% of the assign shift.  Excess use of a computer, monitor and calculator is probable and possible eye strain may be encountered.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.  When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. 

 

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
