Overview

Responsible for the installation, evaluation and maintenance of all audio and video equipment at Pearl River Resort.

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

              

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

 

  • Installs selected audio and visual equipment, maintaining proper security levels and access rights.
  • Ensures the quality of audio and visual system operations in all areas of the company, by communicationg with levels of Employees.
  • Reviews all specifications and makes recommendations for the purchase of audio and visual equipment and supplies. 
  • Routinely inspects all audio and visual equipment on peoperty, identifying potential problems and repairing same, as needed.
  • Facilitates the flow of infromation throughout the Audio-Visual Department, by attending regularly scheduled department meetings. 
  • Ensures a maximum level of sevice and satisfaction is achieved and maintained. 
  • Conducts an inventory of all audio and visual systems on property, and maintains accurate records, by updating information as needed. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of standard cabling codes and all other applicable rules and regulations governing same. 
  • Held accountable, to the highest degree, for the quality and intergrity of audio and visual services on property. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required.  Technical or vocational school education, advanced courses in mathematics, electronics, mechanics, physics and maintenance shop operations is encouraged and preferable for this position.  Certificates or other letters attesting to related skills and training should be provided.  Four (4) years of previous experience in the audio-visual field is required - to include: Complete understanding of any given audio signal path, ability to troubleshoot both digital and analog audio and video systems, concert lighting and sound system set-up and layouts.  Computer enhanced display systems.  Set up and operation of projection systems.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to interact with guests/audience in an engaging and entertaining manner.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical journals and schematics.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints. Abililty to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Essential physical abilities are stand or walk for extended periods of time in.  Excessive bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, kneeling, pulling and pushing may be required throughout the assigned shift. Must be able to lift and maneuver at least fifty (50) lbs.  Climb and work from ladders, platforms and lifts at extended vertical heights up to a level of 30 feet.  Able to wear and use the proper safety hardware and equipment for the machinery in use.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor and during performances, the noise level increases from loud to very loud reaching excess of 100db at times  When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. 

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
