Overview

Responsible for managing play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.

 

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

 

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

        

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate professional policies and procedures for the golf operation to ensure the highest level of guest service.
  • Ensure proper staffing for various times of the year.
  • Train all golf operations staff members to the highest professional standards.
  • Implement a perpetual training program to ensure the highest level of guest service and attention to detail.
  • Motivate all facility staff members with emphasis on the golf operations to provide the highest level of energy, enthusiasm, and guest service.
  • Provide genuine and professional golf instruction in the fine tradition of the PGA of America.
  • Assist in preparing the golf operations budget.
  • Oversee golf operations and outside operations in a managerial role to the highest professional standards.
  • Motivate and monitor golf operations staff to ensure adherence to the set policies and procedures.
  • Help develop merchandise sales goals; also providing quality merchandise, assuring adequate inventories, and presenting merchandise in the finest manner for our guests.
  • Access and work with systems for redemption of offers and promotions issued by the gaming properties.
  • Assist in inventory of all merchandise conducted on the last day of the month, as well as perpetual inventory to be conducted periodically.
  • Assist in formulating the golf operations to be fiscally responsible, productive, and providing the utmost in personalized guest service and adhering to the highest professional standards.
  • Assists in maintaining the line of communication and cooperation between other resort groups, attractions and departments to further the success of the Resort.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

Qualifications

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above. Due to responsibility of accessing and working with systems for redemption of offers and promotions, must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required. Two (2) years golf operations experience is required.

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12 month period. Must be able to teach golf lessons, golf clinics and Forecaddie classes. Must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Essential responsibilities include physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds, and standing/walking 100% of the shift. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout shift. Able to work in extreme temperatures and changing weather conditions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

 

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
