Overview

Representative of the Resort during all special promotions, special events, concerts and approved gaming or slot tournaments.

 

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

 

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

               

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in executing property promotions, events and tournaments to ensure the overall success of the resort.
  • Assist in completing special project and assisting other departments as directed or needed.
  • Follow all rules, regulations, policies and procedures for the property area and assist in protecting and safeguarding all property assets.
  • Assist the Promotions Department in arranging and decorating the facilities, obtaining necessary services and recruiting or coordinating the functions and schedules of any extra personnel utilized for the event.
  • Ensure compliance and proper coordination with the Choctaw Gaming Commission concerning the government regulations, Title 31 requirements and other tribal, state, federal and gaming regulatory standards during all gaming events and/or slot tournaments.
  • Operate basic office equipment in order to complete assigned tasks.
  • Promptly answer all questions and inquiries in a professional, courteous and timely manner. Greet the Guests with a smile and a friendly personality or demeanor. Provide the utmost hospitality and assist them in any way allowed.
  • Assist qualified Guests to contact their Casino Host when problems arise or when applicable.
  • Provide Guests with information about the new slot machines, various game types, and ticket or self-redemption machines as well as the Rewards Club, the Club’s point structure, and the outstanding benefits and features offered or available for members holding a Rewards card.
  • Increase the size of the Rewards Club database by securing and enrolling new players and maintaining and updating the information found for existing guests. Obtain the necessary information, ensure that the information is entered into the computer and the new card is given to the Guest.
  • Inform the Guests where Player Services is located and the services that they are able to provide.
  • Ensure that all exit doors are opened at the conclusion of the event. Thank the Guests for the patronage and ask that they return in the future.
  • Assist in maintaining ample supplies, signs, bins and other required equipment and assist in arranging for equipment repair or maintenance when detected.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field is preferred. One (1) year or more of prior experience in conducting or performing in special events or promotions is preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be comfortable speaking in public, be able to interact with guests/audience in an engaging and entertaining manner, have superb oratory skills and be able to speak clearly so that guests/audience will understand via Public Address System. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook), CMS or a comparable tracking system.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and one on one.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Essential physical abilities are stand or walk for extended periods of time in excess of four (4) hours and for 90% of assigned shift. Excessive bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, kneeling, pulling and pushing may be required throughout the assigned shift. Must be able to lift and maneuver at least fifty (50) lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
