  • Overview

     

    Responsible for the repair of existing and installation of new carpet, tile and vinyl on the property.

     

    Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

    Responsibilities

     

    • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
    • Assist in training fellow associate’s in the carpet/tile trade
    • Repair of existing and installation of new carpet including patching and pattern matching, carpet tile installation, carpet and vinyl cove base installation, stretch and double glue installation with padding, patching or floating of existing surfaces in preparation for carpet installation or repair.
    • Maintaining carpet and title installation supplies par levels and tools.
    • Maintaining an inventory of carpet and title stock
    • Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
    • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company.
    • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
    • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

    Qualifications

    AGE and GAMING:

    21 years of age or above

    Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High School diploma or GED required. Three (3) years’ experience in maintenance and installation of carpet, glue down and stretch in place is required.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge of Carpet and Vinyl cover base, carpet trim hardware, patching floating and installation of carpet tiles. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12 month period.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

      

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

     

    Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates and outdoors under extreme conditions. Safely lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 90% of assigned shift. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Exposed to hazardous chemicals. Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc., may be required at times. May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

     

    Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
