Overview

Responsible servicing all air and liquid cooled refrigeration units, motors and motor control systems as required or as scheduled on the property.

 

Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…

 

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

 

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance procedures and servicing on all air and liquid cooled refrigeration units, motors and motor control systems as required
  • Read, comprehend and follow all refrigeration system control and power schematics during the course of completing the assigned duties.
  • Develop, follow and adhere to proper established procedures to recover refrigerant from leaks, spillage or due to safety concerns.  Remove, store and/or dispose of waste product as required by OSHA and industry standards.
  • Assist in the training of fellow associates in the safe practices of the refrigeration trade and procedures.
  • Maintain the refrigerant storage compliance record systems, as required.
  • Maintain the spare parts and chemical (coolant) par levels as required for the associated systems and equipment in a cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Read and follow architectural construction drawings and details, as required and needed.
  • Assist other engineering associates in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities as required or scheduled.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safekeeping of any storage area, control room, operations room or other identified area or frequented to complete the assigned duties and tasks.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required.  Four (4) years’ experience in the maintenance of commercial coolers, freezers, including walk-in units and ice machines.  Must have EPA universal recovery certification from a certified school.

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – one or less moving violation within a 12 month period.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

 

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates and outdoors under extreme conditions.  Safely lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 90% of assigned shift.  Able to work off of ladders, scaffolds, or lifts up to 100 feet in height and work in confined spaces.   Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift.  Work around hazardous equipment and materials including refrigerant.  Exposed to hazardous chemicals.  Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc, may be required at times.  May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.  When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. 

 

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
